Dick Van Straalen Fishes,
coming to Down The Line from February 2009

From February 2009, Down The Line is proud to stock The Fish and 'Rasta' Rocket Fish by of Dick Van Straalen.

Dick Van Straalen (DVS) began his shaping career in 1956 after seeing Greg Noll and Tom Zahn at Avalon Beach Sydney after the USA lifeguard team visited.

Dick went to work for Bill Wallace surfboards in the early 60's as well as Shane and Dales surfboards in Brookvale, Sydney. Constantly experimenting in his backyard creating surfboards during these years until he moved to Burleigh Heads Queensland.

DVS still hand shapes to this day in Burleigh and crafts each of his boards by hand ensuring each is as unique as the owner that connects with the board.

The Classic retro fish shortboard with "Old School" tints is a favourite that screams personality and rides with a unique level of drive and speed.
