About Us

Down the line has been opened since 1993, it has always been a true surfers surf shop, hardware being the most important part of our business.

Every year we go to Oz to find the newest shapes for the store, we know all the shapers and work closely with them. In the past we have introduced the likes of Darren Handley, JS and Chilli to Europe, to name but a few. Now we're doing the same with the U.S.

We all surf and we all travel, between us we have covered every continent. We are the real deal, a true surf shop. Not a warehouse on an industrial estate.

Trevor Clayton aka "El Jefe" owner

Speciality: wetsuits and shortboards

Surfing: forever

Surfs: shortboards, retro-boards, and very occasionally can be seen sheepishly surfing a log

He's a Brad Pitt look alike, surfs like Kelly (Lorraine), plays football like Lionel messi (Blair), loved by all and a great chap!

Known to paddle out in his kayak in the dark to go fishing with a big swell running!

Always Mr. Smiley never Mr. Grumpy ever!!

Mark "Chuckle Belly" Carr shop manager

Speciality: wetsuits, longboards, and retro-boards

Surfing: 100 years or more, remembers when every board had only one fin, and only softies wore wetsuits in the winter.

Likes warm water, cold beer and blood letting at Lennox head!!

Remembers the Argyle when they could play football.

Speciality: The office, runs the show

She who must be obeyed,karate expert and heavy box lifter..the brains and the muscle of the company.

Likes tea, and lots of it...on the hour, every hour.

Charges knee high waves, has been seen out the back occasionally when its over waist high, heaviest local at kiddies corner.

Speciality: Wetsuits, Bodyboards & Surfboards

Surfing: 15 years

Surfs: bodyboards, and shortboards

Likes his Missus, food and surfing everyday....comes out in a rash if he doesn't!!

Charges everything and anything, some might say fearless, most would say brainless.
