Morning of the Earth Surfboards,
coming exclusively to Down The Line in February 2009
From February 2009, Down The Line is proud to be bringing an exclusive range of Morning of the Earth surfboards to Europe from Australia.
Simon Jones is Morning of the Earth Surfboards who handcrafts and shapes the finest seventies inspired retro surfboards. He has taken single fins and twin fins and enhanced their performance with contemporary design so these surfboards are beautiful, functional and a dream to ride.
Combining retro plan shapes, fin templates, & rocker with contemporary bottom shapes & rail configurations they are beautiful classic shapes that you will love to surf.
Their laminating techniques revolve around the lustre and subtleties that are gained when using classic tints, pigments and trimmed laps, followed by a gloss and polish to the highest quality.
Here's a hint of what's coming:

The Byron Board is probably the most popular of the single fins. Suited mainly for small to medium waves.
Its wide point is forward over a low entry rocker that gets you in early and the pulled in diamond tail has a really responsive feel.
The fin is a classic pivot template, quite upright, and set in a V bottom that allows it to really pivot off the top. The relatively straight tail shape gives it plenty of projection through bottom turns, or styling through long sections.
Seen here in its trademark cream pigment top and bottom, with the thinnest dark burgundy red pinline you've seen since the seventies.

The Disc, flat, round and short, ridden MP and Baddy to name a few. Super flat rocker gets you into waves early and across really flat sections. Great for making the most of everyday conditions. With various tail widths and a deep raking fin, it's insane for cutbacks.
From 5'8" to 6'6", it can be shaped to suit a short board quiver or up to 3 1/4" thick it becomes an option for long boarders looking for something shorter.

The Log Longboard, wide hips, narrow nose, subtle 5' plus nose concave that goes into a rolled V, 50/50 rails, subtle but constant rocker through the board and plenty of weight for that old time single fin feel for smaller waves.

The Noserider Longboard, acres of nose to walk around on, a more progressive nose rider. Box and FCS side fins, 60/40 rails, tucked edge.
