Haydenshapes' much imitated and hugely popular Hypto Krypto combines the front of an early 80’s twinnie with the rear of a pintail step-up. So you've got flat entry rocker and plenty of width/volume up top for glide (with a bit of nose flip for extra security)...coupled with pinched rails and a pulled-in tail down below for tight carves in the pocket...with a subtle convave-to-vee to help things run smoothly. A quiver in one board that promotes smooth, flowing surfing, the Hypto Krypto has proven to be a massive hit with staff and locals here at Down The Line Surf Co.
The Hypto Krypto is available in two types of construction...
FutureFlex (FF) construction consists of a stringerless EPS foam core, biaxial fiberglass, Epoxy resin and a parabolic carbon fiber frame. Strong, light and more environmentally friendly than typical construction methods, FF bestows a springy, lively feel that you may not want to turn back from! (in ex-2x-world-champ Tom Carrol's words, "the Ferrari of Surfboards").
Polyurethane/Epoxy (PE) combines a polyurethane blank (old school - good flex) with Epoxy resin, in this case a variation known as ‘Ultra Bright’, which as well as being super-strong (meaning the board will stay ‘alive’ longer) also produces a stunning, lasting white tint. The PE tech also incorporates progressive glass-fibres that bond better with the resin whilst improving flex.
