The Sub Driver is a perfect board for small to average surf. Relatively short and stubby, it's easy to catch waves and generate speed on. Lost's most consistently successful WQS comp board.
The Sub Driver was originally created in 2010 for Kolohe Andino, leading him to 5 WQS event wins in 2011 alone. A stepped down version of the ever popular performance board, the Driver, the Sub Driver is more geared towards the less than cranking surf.
For a perfomance shortboard, you'll notice the Sub Driver has a slightly wider than average nose, a wide hip and tail block with spiral vee behind the rear fin. The full nose provides stability for landing airs. The wide hip in front of the fins, creates a sort of parallel outline for drive.
The noticeable hip/bump at the fins, angling into the wide squash tail, breaks the rail line and gives the surfer a pivot point to crank tight, powerful turns. The wide tail block makes for a stable platform in small waves and at low speeds, and combined with all the other elements allows the board to be ridden pretty short. The rail rocker transitions from a modest concave under the front foot, transitioning to flat at the rear fin, and continuing upward into noticeable, double concave, vee out the tail. There is a good amount of double concave through the tail, adding lift and helping the water squirt through and release. Good surfers say “it pushes back, even in small waves”. The Sub Driver not only benefits Pros, it really is perfect for most “Bros”. Short and stubby with plenty of built in drive, it’s easy to catch waves and generate speed on. It loves small to average surf."

We also offer a bespoke board ordering service for Bing, and Canvas surfboards. As a rough guide we bring boards in from California 2-3 times a year, but it's best to contact us for the current import status.
Going to the other side of the world, we take custom orders on JS,DHD and Vouch surfboards. These boards are built at the respective factories in Australia and sent over along with our stock orders.. Again, 2 - 3 times a year.
Some customisations will of course incur an additional fee, ie.sprays, carbon etc.. in which case we'll advise.
If you want to place a custom order, or just want to have a chat to find out more, give us a call on +44 (0)1736 757025 or drop us an email.
When we've agreed on exactly what you want, and you're ready to place an order, we'll need a £100 deposit to secure your board until the joyful day if arrives... bringing with it 4-6ft waves and offshore winds....just like every time you buy a new board... right?
*4-5 weeks is an average time for completion. However we cannot be responsible for delays beyond our control (transport, force majeure, etc.).
