JS Hyfi Monsta Box Round Tail Surfboard

The Monsta Box is a one board quiver to suit a whole range of riders and conditions. Here's how they've merged the two global favourites to make it:-

• It has less rocker than the Monsta 6, but more rocker than the Blak Box 2
• It has a wider outline than the Monsta 6, but narrower than the Blak Box 2. The result is an outline that hides a surprising amount of area for ease of paddling and speed generation
• The entry and exit rocker of both models has been blended to create a perfect balance and to maintain a responsive, high performance feel
• Single to double concave

Best suited in 2-6 feet average to good conditions.
Rails: Medium rails, (more tuned than the PU Monsta Box to allow for slightly less proportionate volume)

Hyfi Technology - After two years of research and development between top engineers and some of the world's best riders and over 100 prototype combinations of templates and materials, the resulting Hyfi (Hybrid Fiber) is an exclusive multi layer construction comprising of a stringerless EPS core with a mesh exoskeleton. Lighter, faster and stronger, the Hyfi creates the perfect flex properties for maximum performance. Carbon is added in all the right places for strength and rigidity and something called Olefin Fibres in other areas that require more flex as well as strength.

Picking up a Hyfi, you will definitely notice how much lighter these are than your usual PU board. (20% by all accounts). It should be noted that this doesn't mean you go way lower in volume, thinking it's going to be a lot more bouyant. The guys at JS say not to change your board length at all, and stick with what you normally ride. You'll notice the Hyfi dims are approx 0.5ltr less than the PU Monsta Box dims to compensate.
Strength wise, Hyfi boards are reportedly 30% stronger than standard PU surfboards.
