Down The Line Surf Competition – Warriors of Winter

We are psyched to announce that this year’s judge for our Warriors of Winter 21/22 competition is legendary Aussie surfer Joel Parkinson! Coming runner up on the tour no less than four times in some proper nail biters, Parko finally sealed the deal and rightfully became WSL World Champion in 2012. With his silky smooth style and powerful rail game, Parko has always been the people’s favourite.

We last caught up with Parko when he and Jason Stevenson came to visit us in our shop here in Cornwall back in 2018.

Parko will be picking this year’s winner from a shortlist of amazing entries from around the UK and Ireland. As always, our prizes for the winning surfer and photographer will not disappoint…

The winners

The winning surfer will receive a custom surfboard of choice* and the ultimate winter wetsuit pack courtesy of Rip Curl including: Rip Curl’s highest performance winter suit to date, the E7 Heatseeker, Flashbomb boots and gloves.

The winning photographer will receive a Rip Curl Anti Series pack, including; a Surf Poncho and Heatseeker fleece to keep out the harshest elements, a Yeti Tundra Cool Box and a year’s supply* of the finest Cornish rum, courtesy of Cape Cornwall Rum Co.

This year’s comp has been a banger so far. We have had loads of epic entries and we are excited to see what’s to come from the rest of the competition. With just over one month left of the comp, be sure to get your entries in before the clocks spring forward on the 27th March!
