We have made it to the end of another epic winter season and as we move into spring our Warriors of Winter Competition must come to an end for another year. This winter has graced us with of some of the best conditions we have ever had, our team riders have scored some incredible waves and some of us had to take a few half days off work (for product testing of course).

We are excited to announce this year’s guest judge for Warriors of Winter is legendary surfer and master shaper Jim Banks.

Jim will be picking the winning entry, and whoever is crowned this year’s Warrior of Winter will be receiving a custom board of their choosing and a top of the range Rip Curl wetsuit. It’s worth noting that two of our previous winners have picked Jim Banks customs as their prizes and seeing as Jim is well known for conquering big waves on his own, we couldn’t think of a better fit for this year’s judge.

The person behind the lens will also be taken care of, courtesy of Rip Curl. The photographer of the winning shot will win a whole bunch of Rip Curl goodies.

Seconds before disaster struck, Nathan Phillips suffered a horrific broken leg when he collided with his surfboard on a south coast bomb, Nathan is now on the mend and there is a special gift waiting for him when he’s ready to get back in the water.

As always, a massive thank you to all the surfers and photographers who have got involved, we have been blown by the quality of this year’s submissions. The bar is raised every year, and we already cannot wait to see what next year has in store.
